Countdown to special events like Christmas, birthdays, holidays……

Save some old Christmas cards.  Cover the inside writing with white paper and write one large number inside.

Put the cards somewhere special and look at them together each day.  One card is removed each day until only 1 card left.  The day before Christmas.

 

For birthdays you could buy really cheap birthday cards or use old ones.

 

For holidays you make cards with seaside or holiday scenes cut from magazines.

I think five cards to count backwards is enough otherwise your child would probably lose interest.
